Little Gasparilla Island

Coconut Hideaway Beachhouse is located on Little Gasparilla island, part of the Gulf Island chain that includes Sanibel, Captiva and Boca Grande.

Our very special island offers something those islands cannot…privacy and seclusion. This bridgeless barrier island – just 10 minutes from the mainland and just north of Boca Grande – has no roads and no traffic, just white sand paths for exploring. You’ll find yourself surrounded by nature, the way Florida used to be before condos and high rises. In addition to our 7 miles of pristine white sandy beaches, you’ll find:

  • many species of birds including bald eagles
  • PLUS great white herons, egret, rare white pelicans, osprey and numerous small shorebirds
  • balmy tropical breezes
  • an abundance of shells and sand dollars
  • dramatic sunsets
  • the BEST snook and tarpon fishing and schools of dolphin that swim by the house every morning
  • long lazy days of brilliant blue skies and warm waves

Whether you choose to walk or jog the beaches, fish for snook off the dock, go birdwatching, kayak to one of the many mangrove islands, take nature walks and explore the island — or simply read a good book while swaying in a hammock, you’ll find a vacation on Little Gasparilla Island to be one of the most relaxing and pleasureable imaginable!
